We are an International Press Association whose primary mission is to recognize the achievements of the dedicated men and women that have brought truth to the world through their photographs, videos, films and writings.

Our organization has a clear and public mission that focuses on building credibility and exposure for ethical independent media professionals worldwide. We have selective member policies, and seek to level the playing field for the explosively growing population of independent media.

We want to encourage the thousands of photographers, videographer's, journalists, writers, bloggers and all members of the independent media to continue bringing their photos, stories and revelations public. These "photographers and reporters" have brought some of the most compelling stories, photos and videos public and many have done so, at great personal risk.

Our secondary mission, but no less important, is to level the playing field for the many individuals that work for or own web sites, publications and media companies. These individuals and companies who must compete with the major media corporations in gathering their photos and stories for their respective publications, both digital and traditional, are often faced with what may seem like, an impossible task.

Our website has been created to highlight all of our members exciting photos and share their important writings with other members and visitors to our site. By offering our members the support needed to obtain the access to achieve these goals and publishing their work on our web site, IPA has become the only web based organization offering this type of support and encouragement.

Members will find IPA a dedicated organization that will help them learn, earn and succeed in our industry. We will continue to work hard to be true to this mission and are dedicated to supporting IPA members in their personal and career goals.
