Within two seconds TRIPY II can calculate the most “scenic” itinerary to reach your improvised destination and then you have the capability to add the additional miles you want to drive… if road quality is your first priority.

Features on the new Tripy II include; Ultra-sensible technology with 20 GPS channels, extremely well groomed design offering two coloured interchangeable casings, panoramic screen with total readability in full sunlight and night time, huge memory capacity, battery life <30, optimized guidance system with a library of 500 road books and no less than 800.000 points of interest in Western Europe. TRIPY II GPS combines all the traditional features of a modern day GPS with the above unique features which makes it the absolute reference in terms of motorized leisure activities!

Tripy presentation

Tripy is an electronic device focused on assisting the rider on leisure or adventure routes. Based on the GPS technology, Tripy allows the user to precisely design his itinerary of choice on or off-road according to his preferences. From the itinerary creation by means of a routing software and digital maps, through the downloading of third party routes from the internet community of users, up to the riding of the itinerary on the electronic roadbook reader, Tripy paces your magical discoveries.

Started in 2005, Tripy S.A. is a daughter company of Twin Development S.A. (a Gosselies-Belgium
based engineering company), active for 18 years in applied electronics and micro-electronics.

Thanks to Tripy, proof is once more made that reason and passion can converge, combine without risk an advanced know-how and an immoderate call for freedom. Freedom is choice: Tripy gives you the choice of route and terrain.

In January 2005, a first version of the Tripy prototype was presented in a world première at the Brussels Auto Show.

Launched in July, this electronic device has immediately raised interest from the motorbikes industry professionals as well as from the all-terrain vehicles, 4x4 and Quads included.

Developed by riders for the motorbike world, it answers all requirements of the routes riding: sturdy and waterproof, Tripy offer a clear and summarised information quickly understandable by a rider, quickly (and safely) bringing him back to his riding pleasure. All along its 30 hours battery capacity, 5 main functions and lots of options are offered to the user.
This « RoadMaster » is based on the satellite geo-referencing system. Its two main functions are reading and recording roadbooks. It is not a traditional navigation GPS in such a way that it does not suggests the shortest route to go from A to B. With the RoadMaster, you choose freely to ride routes designed by yourself or downloaded from the community of users on the internet (www.tripy.co.uk).

Its compass navigation will guide you towards points of interest from a gas station to a small restaurant, through scenic sites or nice view points.

In addition, Tripy RoadMaster offers « motorbikes » specific features: clarity and readability of the reflective LCD screen (the more sunlight it gets, the clearer it is) but also instantaneous kilometer downcounter when approaching the next decision point (direction change, info). A « sniffer » arrow constantly gives the rider the direction of the route ahead of him (useful in case of hidden road bend or
hill top). It also offers compass guidance as soon as one rides away from the roadbook. In short, a complete information, quickly integrated for a greater passive safety!

RoadMaster offers several information reports : instantaneous speed, ridden average speed, km (for each trip), estimated arrival time, Way Point number, as well as gas stations or towns down the route. You can also efficiently use the altitude, compass directions or speed traps information.

Road Tracer Pro software

On top of the website www.tripy.co.uk offering a library of free quality roadbooks, Tripy has also developed RoadTracer PRO. This software of digital routing exists like RoadMaster in four languages: English, French, Dutch and German.

It offers the possibility, to the amateurs as well as the clubs or professionals, to
edit and share their own roadbooks with efficient encryption.

Road Tracer PRO allows to:

• Design and print your own roadbook on road maps with an automatic routing function.
• Optionally, for the design of off-road itineraries in France or Belgium, to use the National Geographic Institute (NGI) digital maps.
• Load your roadbooks and the ones of your friends into your RoadMaster
• Automatically extract the WayPoints (direction changes) along the recorded or traced route.
• Automatically generate the « dot-arrows » notes at the WayPoints identified by the software
• Snap the recorded routes to the roads on the map
• Manually create you WayPoints and the sequence of « dot-arrows » from a library of images (typically off-road)
• Define your own roadbook and map print-out templates
• Display and modify your circuits and roadbooks by replacing the Tele-Atlas or NGI background maps by exotic places topographic map scans e.g. where digital maps are not available.

This leaves you free to choose which usage you want to make: ride a roadbook downloaded from the website, create your own roadbook from the digital maps, or record your preparation rides prior to issuing the best roadbook ever! Knowing that all these functions can be combined together..., this allows you to dream about all the creation capabilities! This is probably, the freedom and creativity spirit claimed by Tripy…… The freedom to ride.

Tripy official guide along the Green Raid in China.

First open edition of the Green Raid in Chinese Mongolia, Hubert Auriol has trusted Tripy to guide the competitors along this regularity rally in this territory without digital maps.

« ...the competitors were discovering the route at their pace and judged
according to their regularity. Under these circumstances we have used the
Tripy, the electronic roadbook that had assisted us in tracing the itinerary in
advance. ... » [Hubert Auriol – www.greenraid.org]

Tripy for the Dakar 2009 assistance.

Proof that Tripy can be exploited as well by the private rider as the most demanding professional organiser, the Dakar 2009 sport direction has decided for safety and innovation reasons, to promote the use of the Tripy roadbook to the team assistances. The all-in-one GPS scouting station Tripy « T2R » has been used by ASO through Argentina & Chile.

Tripy on Quads.

Beyond the basic qualities of clarity, sturdiness, and waterproof, and thanks to its use of NGI topographic maps or even scanned paper maps, many Quad riders have conquered the available territories and follow Tripy without fear for their device. The recording and immediate use of ridden tracks make it a source of immediate satisfaction.
