Superbike spectacle in Francorchamps

Last weekend, the 18th and 19th of April 2009, the Dutch Superbike and Dutch Supersport classes came in action again during the third and second matches respectively of the season, on the circuit of Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes. Owing to the beautiful weather and the enthusiastic fans, the races drew many spectators filling up the grandstands.

There were a lot of participants with powerful and nice motorbikes. The ONK drivers raced together with their Belgian counterparts in a combined competition for both the BK and the ONK in the Superbike and Supersport classes. The races were done in compliance with the program of the Bikers' Trophy.

In the Dutch Supersport class, Joey Litjens took his first victory this season. An hour later, team-mate Raymond Schouten was the first to reach the finish line in the Dutch Superbike class.

The Dutch Superbike race was fantastic. Already from the start, Raymond Schouten took the lead over the Englishman Gino Rea and Australian Gareth Jones. It was a tough competition with these men exchanging positions several times each round. But Raymond Schouten had the longest breath and picked up his second victory this season. Team-mate Hampus Johansson rendered a good race as well and climbed up remarkably to a good eight place from the 20th position at the start.
