Kristof Schoubben: Ready for the new racing season

Kristof Schoubben of “NF racing team Tongeren” looks forward to the coming race season which will start with the “Van Zon Sprintrace” on April 16, 2009 in Zolder, Belgium

Let’s see how this young man from Bilzen, Belgium started his career in this fantastic sports as he told his story and how his team looks like this year:

“Ever since my father took me to the racing circuit during my childhood years, I was directly infected by the “motorvirus”. I couldn’t wait to get my motorcycle driver’s licence. Finally, I was able to acquire my license on my 21st birthday. At first, I had the experience riding my father’s Ducati, but then I wanted to try something different, and my choice was the Aprilla RSV-Rvan, (from year 2000). After driving this motorcycle on the road several times, I decided to enrol at the motor-sportschool in Zolder. It fascinated me and I wanted to experience “more”. With the support of my dealer, Mr. Freddy Nijssen, we decided to try the other European racing circuits and make them “unsafe”. He taught me the different tricks and techniques of motor-racing.

Although there’s a lot of danger that go along with this sports, this thought never spoils the fun. After joining the Dutch competition for a year, we decided to try the Club MET races. We enjoyed it so much that we will join the long-distance races again this season. In the mean time, I’ll take part also in the sprintraces in Zolder and you can find me regularly in the different racing circuits in Europe.”

Here is a short overview what the NF racing team is and what their activities are for this year:

The NF racing team was set-up to participate in the endurance races (club MET) in Zolder. The team is composed of 3 pilots namely: Freddy Nijssen, Kristof Schoubben and Greg Karambilis. Together they will strive as hard as possible to achieve good racing results. However, their motto is and remains: “Participation is better than winning”. As an exception, Kristof Schoubben will also participate in the “Van Zon Sprintrace” in Zolder.
