Today, June 24 2008, the Dutch DNRT / ZAC motor race was held on the racing circuit at Zolder (Belgium). DNRT stands for “Dutch National Racing Team”.

It was a sprint race where each class had to race in 2 manches from 9 rounds. There are 4 classes so today the public can enjoy 8 races from 9 rounds.
A big problem for many pilots was the sound limit of 95db in Zolder; many got disqualified because they were too loud.

The first race in class S3 was won by Bert van Munster, he started at 5th position but after the disqualification of Alex Janissen and Peter TjonPoenGie, he made a perfect race and finished first. Second was Gerrit-Jan Leek on his Triumph Daytona.

The second race was for class S2 where Bas In’t Veld had the fastest time during the qualification and started in pole position. During the race Bas lost 4 places and crossed the finish in 4th place. Maarten van Triest had an excellent first race; he started in 6th position and finished first on his Yamaha Thundercat.
In this race, 3 pilots got disqualified because they were too loud.

In the third race the class S1 was not that spectacular. Laurens Fodish started in pole position and he also finished first on his Suzuki GSX-R600. Henk Rutten finished in second place who won one place but also received a 10-second penalty because he made a false start. Jeroen Swiers had a very bad day; he started in second place but he lost 9 places during the race and finished at 11th place.

Race four was for the class S0 where Arie-jan van Marion had a very good day. He started in second place just behind Arnold de Jong who started in pole position. Arie-jan van Marion nearly drove the whole 9 rounds in first place and crossed the finish line 12.931 seconds before Will Stolzenbach.

The first manche of four races were finished and we are back with Class S3 who are ready for their second race. This time it is Rogier Boeringa who finished in first place with a Suzuki GSX-R1000; second place was for John van Harn on a Honda CBR-600RR. Only 8 pilots out of 15 finished the second race.

For the second race for the class S2, it was again Maarten van Triest on his Yamaha Thundercat who drove from start to finish in first position. This racing day gave him 66 points in the championship ranking. Second place was for Nico Dmyczewicz who finished 6.611 seconds behind Maarten but 9.319 seconds before the pilot who finished third, Hedzer v.d. Bij.

In Class 1, the roles were turned this time and it was Henk Rutten who finished before Larens Fodish. It was a very good race for Friedhelm Felder who finished in third position and has 58 points for the championship ranking.

Last race of the day was for the class S0, Arie-jan van Marion started at pole position and again just as in the first race he drove from start to finish in first place and was unstoppable in the 2 manches. Second place was for Will Stolzenbach on a Yamaha R1.
Arie-jan van Marion has today 74 points for the championship ranking.
