Go Fast Superbike Spectacle

On Sunday, the 8th of June 2008, the Superbike race was held on the circuit of Zolder in Belgium. It is the only Superbike race that Belgium will have this year.
During the Go Fast X-day the best Superbike pilots start for a 9-lap sprint race. Werner Daemen (B), Arie Vos (NL) and Vesa Kallio (FIN) are the big names on the starting grid.

As the result of the qualification, Werner Daemen took pole position with a time of 1:36.190, on the second position was Olivier Depoorter 1:37.611, they both ride a Suzuki GSX-R1000, while Aries Vos on a Ducati 1098 was on 3rd position with a time of 1:37.625.

In the Superbike class, Werner Daemen took the lead and finished after 9 rounds in first place, Arie Vos on his Ducati was the second best and Olivier Depoorter lost a place and finished third.

Mario Van Rooij from Team Motorweelde had a bad start. He lost a few positions but had a very good race and placed 8th. Tony Vansprengel from BVD Racing finished 10th on his Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Johan Larmenier on his Honda CBR 1000RR had a very steady race and finished 13th, the same position when he started.

In the 600cc class we saw a very impressive race from Vesa Kallio, who started in the 4th place and finished 4th overall but ranked 1st in the 600cc class. Vesa Kallio rides every time with his Honda CBR 600RR as the top 600 class pilot. The second placer was Erdal Karabulut on his Yamaha R6 and Wim Milo finished third.

Go Fast brought Superbike back to Belgium as an annual tradition, which was a super event. We look forward to next year when Go Fast offers us again the Superbike spectacle.
