This is a sample of an email you may want to modify when you request a media discounted or complimentary pass or stay at a hotel, attraction, or event.

Dear (your contact at hotel, event, attraction, either Press Office, Public Relations, Manager.)

I am a (journalist, photographer, etc) and independent staff member of the International Press Association and will be visiting (country) on (dates) to cover (show, event, story) for publication on our web site as well as (any other publications, you intend on offering the story).

I would like to include information in my article and review about your (hotel, attraction, event) as well and would like to know if you offer complimentary or discounted (rates, passes) to qualified members of the media.

If you are not familiar with IPA, here is some information about IPA you may find helpful...International Press Association is a 20 year old international organization made up of members of the media, photographers, videographers and journalist (both independent and full time). Fourteen years ago, IPA became an entirely web based organization and we currently have hundreds of independent staff members globally that contribute content to our web site and thousands of affiliate members in the many IPA groups we have on other major web sites.

Our organization has a clear and public mission that focuses on building credibility and exposure for ethical independent media professionals worldwide. Because we do not accept paid advertising and are totally supported by our members, we can focus on providing our readers and members with unbiased reviews and interesting site content.
